Aquabest at SUBMARINER final conference

The Aquabest sister project SUBMARINER held its final conference "Innovative Uses of Baltic Marine Resources in the Light of the EU Blue Growth Initiative" on the 5-6th of September. The conference gathered a range of reserachers, policy makers and other stakeholders in Gdansk, Poland. The Aquabest project was well represented through project leader Jouni Vielma from the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute, Åland Minister of Environment Carina Aaltonen and Åland Government Aquabest representative Petra Granholm, who both spoke at the conference. Minister Aaltonen presented mussel farming as a complement to fish aquaculture on the Åland islands and Petra Granholm spoke about the legislative challenges on Åland relating to water quality and aquaculture.

The final conference might have been an end to a project, but also a launch of a new network, the SUBMARINER-network.Read more about the Aquabest sister project final conference and the network here
